Unit Manager - LPN -Evenings - Now Hiring
Full time evenings from 3pm to 11pm.
LPN with a $8,000 sign on bonus! Purpose of Position:
To direct the day-to-day functions of the Aides/Orderlies and nursing staff, as well as give direct nursing care to patients.
This position is also responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of education programs for facility staff in accordance with current existing federal, state and local standards, and established policies and procedures of the facility.
Description of Required Duties and Tasks:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.
o Direct the day-to-day functions of nursing aides and nursing staff.
o Give direct nursing care to patients.
o Visit all assigned patients at regular intervals during tour of duty.
o Supervise feeding of patients as necessary.
o Notify physician when patient's condition warrants.
o Perform administrative duties, such as documenting of:
o Nurses' noteso Doctors' orderso Discharge planso Dietary changeso Reportso Evaluationso Studieso Billing and other charge slipso Miscellaneous forms, charts, etc.
o Chart pertinent facts and information in a professional, clear and comprehensive manner.
o Admit, transfer and discharge patients according to policy.
o Recognize and respond to changes in patients' conditions and document observations, interventions and outcomes.
o Order from pharmacy, prepare and administer medications as ordered by physician.
o Ensure that physicians sign off on all verbal orders and document process.
o Conduct and/or monitor prescribed treatments, such as dressing changes, drawing of blood, catheter changes, NG tube insertion and removal, laboratory work, etc.
o Give and receive condition report from the on-coming and off-going shift.
o Perform emergency procedures, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and in the event of death, notify family and appropriate other parties.
o Recognize, intervene and report accidents and incidents when they occur.
o Monitor and update care plans on each shift as appropriate.
o Maintain records of patient accidents and incidents and provide in-services to reduce accidents and incidents.
o Attend and participate in monthly and quarterly infection control, safety and quality assurance meetings.
o Recognize, intervene and report accidents and incidents when they occur.
o Participate in surveys made by authorized government agencies.
o Supervise and participate in fire safety and other disaster drills and be prepared to carry out duties in the event on an actual event.
o Recognize, intervene and/or report complaints and grievances from patients, families, visitors and employees.
o Monitor the facility for possible health and safety hazards.
o Maintain privacy and confidentiality of records, conditions and other information relating to patients, employees and facility.
o Follow the established universal precautions and isolation procedures.
o Encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth and interest in patients' personal and health care needs.
o Meet or exceed the dress code of the facility as specified in the Employee Handbook, which includes neat, clean, odor-free grooming and dress.
Required Skills:
o Update daily census report and submit as required.
o Attend and participate in orientation programs, on-going training and educational classes.
o Inventory and request equipment, supplies, etc.
o Assist in updates of written policies and procedures of routine nursing care.
o Participate in surveys made by authorized government agencies.
o Admit, transfer and discharge patients.
o Monitor and participate in daily clean-up of the nurses' station.
o Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
